Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support throughout the past week. I'm so blessed to work in a school with such loving parents and students.

A few important reminders from parent club...

Tuesday, Sept. 19: Jet's Pizza Night!! Be sure to mention Bauer and your child's teacher's name when ordering. Please share with friends and family! Jet's is located at 3735 Baldwin St. 616-662-9333

Tuesday, Sept. 19: 7 p.m. 1st grade Literacy Night! (This is for first grade parents only)

Wednesday, Sept. 20: School Picture Day!!

Friday, Sept. 22: WALK-A-THON! Please send in donation envelopes. If your student raises $75 or more, make sure the t-shirt order form is filled out on the back of the donation envelope. T-shirts are dri-fit material and feature a brand new design this year!

Students are encouraged to show their school spirit on Walk-A-Thon Friday by wearing Bauer t-shirts or other maize/blue clothes! Make sure all clothing is comfortable and weather appropriate. No flip-flops, please. Parents are invited to cheer the kids on - - be sure to check in with Karen in the office before heading to the track.

Sept. 20 - Oct. 8 : ArtPrize!! Last but not least, the HPS art program (including BAUER!) has an entry in ArtPrize this fall. You can find the HPS art, entitled You Be You, outside along the rive, near the Devos Place Convention Center.

9. 20 - Picture Day! Picture day order forms went home last week, please remember to bring them to school on Wednesday.

9-22 - Walk- a -thon!! Bring your Walk-A-Thon fundraising packets to school with you on Friday. We will begin Walk-a-thon at 10:45. =)

Bauer Parent Club!



Bauer Elementary has a NEW FACEBOOK GROUP! We look forward to using this group to communicate community and connections and to keep parents informed about all the happenings at Bauer Elementary. This group is intended for parents/guardians of current Bauer students and is maintained by the Bauer Parent club. If you are not already a member, please go to www.facebook.com/groups/bauerelementary and click "Join Group"  and an admin will approve your request. If you are not on Facebook, please email Katie Terpstra at katie.terpstra@gmail.com, and she'll add you to an email list.

Important dates for September

September 12 - Parent Club Meeting 7 p.m.

September 15 - Early Release -- WEAR YOUR BE-AWESOME SHIRT!

*The school day ends at 12:15. Lunch will not be provided to students on early release days, but they are able to order a sack lunch to take home. Orders need to be placed first thing in the morning. Please be sure that your child knows if they are supposed to order a lunch.

September 20 - Picture Day

September 22 - Walk-A-Thon and packets due!

Newsletter!

This year the students will each get a turn to write our classroom newsletter. Our two rockstars, Tommy and Sabrina, had to do this in one day due to some technology issues. They still were able to capture our week perfectly!

Walk-A-Thon is Friday, Sept. 22!!


Walkathon packets will be coming home soon! The kids are excited and now we need some extra hands to help our event run smoothly.
Our students will be walking / running in three heats -- you are welcome to sign-up for one, two or all three time slots.
➡️HEAT 1: 9:00 - 9:45 AM (Pre-K, Kindergarten & 3rd Grade)
➡️HEAT 2: 10:00 - 10:45 AM (1st Grade & 4th Grade)
➡️HEAT 3: 10:45 - 11:30 AM (2nd Grade & 5th Grade)
