Upcoming Dates and Reminders

Feb 23: Author Aaron Zenz Book Orders Due. These order forms came home a few weeks ago. Let me know if you need an extra.

Feb 23: Symphony Field Trip to Devos Performance Hall. We will be gone most of the day. Students are encouraged to dress up for this event. We are heading to McDonald's for lunch afterwards. Students may also bring a sack lunch if they prefer. We have already started discussing expectations. Please make sure your child knows your expectations as well. For example: If you give them $20, that doesn't mean they have to spend all of it. 

Feb 24: Daddy/Daughter Dance 6:30-8:30

Feb 12-26: Bring in gently used/new books for our book donation.

Feb 26: Author Aaron Zenz is visiting Bauer to talk to us about creating books! He will pass out signed ordered books this day. 

Feb 28: Reading Night!! Come with your family to enjoy fun activities, a photobooth, popcorn and much more focused on books turned into movies. 6:30-7:30pm. This is a FREE family event, but register here, so we know how many to expect.

March 1: We will be visiting the High School during the day for a mini concert from the music programs. This will be a great opportunity for kids to start to think about music programs next year.

March 2: 5th Grade Camp Balances Due! Please make checks out to Bauer Elementary. If you need assistance paying for camp, please let me know! Chaperones--please remember to turn in your balance and fill out your background check.

March 13: Instrument Fittings at Bauer 1-3:30 - You do not have to do anything for this, it's all in school! :) 

March 14 & 20: Parent Teacher Conferences--Conference times will be coming home soon!

*These are parent music information night dates. You can attend either one of these meetings.

Kick off to Reading Month Night!

What better way to kick off reading month than a night out with your family! Come to Bauer on Wednesday, February 28 to help us kick off Reading Month. There will be popcorn, a photobooth, and a lot fun reading activities! Looking forward to a fun family night.

A REAL LIVE AUTHOR WILL BE VISITING BAUER!

Aaron Zenz, an author and Michigan native, will be making a stop to
Bauer on Tuesday, February 27. He is so excited to meet our students and talk
to them about writing stories and creating art. If you would like to order one of his books
for your child prior to his visit, please fill out the form that was sent home with your child or
click on the link below and have it back to school by Friday, Feb. 23.

Daddy/Daughter Dance

The Bauer Father/Daughter dance is scheduled for
Saturday, February 24^th from 6:30-8:30pm at Bauer.
All Bauer girls, pre-K through 5^th grade, and their dad (or other special guy!) are invited to join us for a night of dancing, crafts, a photo booth, snacks, and lots of fun!
(Please note: we will have many yummy snacks but dinner will not be served.)

Merry Christmas!

It's been such a blessing having each and every one of your children in my class this year. They are such a great group of kids with so much love for others. Thank you so much for all of the Christmas gifts, it is extremely unnecessary, but very appreciated. I cannot thank you enough for all your support so far this year. Looking forward to an amazing 2018 and a great end of the year with these kids as they finish out their elementary career.

Our First Thanksgiving

Thank you so much for all of you that brought in menu items to help us celebrate our First Thanksgiving Feast. The students had a blast trying all of the items.

Bauer school spirit apparel website now available!

Bauer's Parent Club is offering a variety of men’s, women’s and children’s apparel items to promote Eagle spirit.

The website will be open throughout the year, but if you're thinking of giving Eagle gear as holiday gifts, those orders need to be in by FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1 so they can be delivered to school in time before break.

All ordering and payment is done online through the website: www.HPSspiritstore.com. At checkout, please choose “Give directly to student” or “Hold for parent pickup.”

A small portion of the proceeds (10%) goes directly back to Bauer. There is a 1% credit card fee, but no shipping charges. You will be notified by email when your items are expected to be delivered to school.

It's time to start thinking about fundraising for camp!

5th grade camp this year is April 25-27. 

YMCA Camp Pendalouan

Camp cost is $100 per student. 

Today we gave out a fundraiser to help your child help pay for camp. This is not required, but just an option to help offset the cost of camp.

The fundraiser forms and money are due: Nov. 6 (make checks payable to Bauer Elementary)

Delivery Date: Dec. 4 


Other Important Camp Dates: 
January: Apply to be Chaperone ($50 per chaperone)
February: All camp money is due
March: Parent Meeting/Information
April: 4/25 - depart from Bauer in the morning  4/27 - Return to Bauer at 2pm. Parents pick up upon arrival.
